PLANS to build homes on a Springbourne industrial site are back before planners later this month.

Back in August Bournemouth council's planning board deferred its decision on an outline application by WCR Management Ltd to demolish Jecco House in Boscombe Grove Road and build 19 houses and blocks of seven and eight flats.

Councillors argued that the layout of the site, opposed by several neighbours, could result in crime and antisocial behaviour, as well as overlooking of existing properties.

The plans have been recommended for approval by officers and will be considered again at a meeting on October 17.

The report states: "The police crime, prevention and design advisor has reviewed the revised proposals, and no longer raises objections to the proposed scheme."

Conditions have been recommended, including a £35,000 contribution to affordable housing via Section 106 legislation.
