AN INNOVATIVE club for adults with learning disabilities in Bournemouth has proved so successful over the past two years it is now looking to expand.

The Tuesday Club, which meets at the Trinity Methodist Church Hall in Southbourne Road, has grown from six members to 75 in just two years.

And founders Paula Smith and Julie Jamrozy are now keen to find new premises so they can offer their services on other days of the week.

Paula said they offered a social, educational and informative service to people aged from 18 to 70 and with a range of different needs.

Members pay just £5 to enjoy four hours of activities, including arts and crafts, cold cooking, dance, fitness, karaoke and drama.

“It’s just like we are one big happy family,” she said.

“Everyone brings their own lunch and we all sit and eat together.

“With all the cuts in day centres and social activities, the demand for what we provide is growing all the time.”

Anyone who could help with fundraising or finding new premises should call Paula on 01202 382616, Julie on 01202 417274 or email paula62@live.co.uk
