Oil spill causes delays on the A341 at Wimborne Minster

A HUGE diesel spill caused traffic problems in East Dorset this afternoon.

The A341 and A31 near Wimborne were affected by the slick, which took most of the afternoon to be cleared.

A stretch of road between the Merley Roundabout and the A349 Gravel Hill junction was particularly badly affected.

A Dorset Police spokesperson said: “This was reported to us by the fire service at 12.30pm.”

She said the “large spill” slowed traffic, but officers from the local authority worked to clear the roads ahead of rush hour.
