Firm doubles office size with big letting
A COMPANY has more than doubled the size of its headquarters in one of the conurbation’s biggest office lettings in recent years.
WDS, a Xerox company, has taken out more space at Discovery Court in Wallisdown, the 80,000sqft building owned by St Modwen.
WDS provides customer support to wireless brands internationally. It has increased its space at Discovery Court by more than 19,000sqft to 31,395sqft.
James Edwards, associate director at Bournemouth-based letting agent Goadsby, which acted for St. Modwen, said: “This transaction is one of the largest office lettings completed in the Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch region since 2008 and we are delighted to have let the space to a company of WDS Xerox’s stature.
“It’s no surprise they chose Discovery Court as it is an excellent managed business centre which provides high quality accommodation, commensurate with modern office occupiers’ requirements, and the scope to expand.”
James Stockdale, development manager for St. Modwen, said: “We have a long-standing relationship with WDS and are pleased to support such a major expansion of their operations. Discovery Court is a thriving business centre and we have invested in the facilities to ensure it continues to go from strength to strength and provides the right environment for modern businesses.”
The six-acre business centre recently had its facilities upgraded, including air conditioning, new carpets and the appointment of Dorset-based caterer Manna Kitchen to provide on-site food for staff.
St Modwen’s national portfolio includes the £2billion regeneration of New Covent Garden Market in London, the re-development of London’s Elephant and Castle Shopping Centre, the £1bn transformation of Longbridge in Birmingham and the regeneration of more than 2,500 acres of former industrial land in South Wales.
