AROUND 45 women put their creative skills to the test for a good cause when they helped to decorate a symbolic 3D butterfly which will be donated to the new women’s health unit at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital.
Each member of the group was asked to bring a bra to the event where they were given different materials and a 3D butterfly to embellish.
Local artist Sharon White, of Mumbo Jumbo Paint, who organised the event at the Captain’s Club in Christchurch, said their work will be combined to make a unique piece of art.
She said: “Sunday’s event surpassed my expectations. The ladies really embraced what the day was all about and the result was 45 unique pieces of art that I will now co-ordinate into a 'Mumbo Jumbo' painting.”
The event raised a total of £550 which will be split between the women’s health unit, and Breast Cancer Care The Bournemouth Hospital Charity aims to raise around £2 million each year to support patient experience beyond what the NHS can provide.
