Spring is here - with Bournemouth to see sunshine for the next few days

First published in News by

SPRING is finally here – or at least for the next week as the sunshine and fine weather looks set to continue.

Yesterday, Bournemouth was warmer than parts of Turkey and Greece as blue skies and warm temperatures returned.

Thousands flocked to the beaches to make the most of the glorious weather, and temperatures all this week set to hover around 12-14 degrees.

Today – Monday – Tuesday and Wednesday look likely to see the most sunshine of the week with Thursday and Friday slightly cloudier.

The weekend also looks like it will be mainly dry but with slightly less sunshine although temperatures will hover around the 14 degree level.

A spokesperson for the Met Office said the forecast for the rest of the week will remain largely dry and settled with "sunny spells and variable cloud".

There will be light winds but it will be mild by day and colder at night, they said.

Into next week, the Met Office predict it will stay generally dry and bright with some colder and more unsettled weather also possible.

Now this is the part of the global warming myth that I welcome, if this is it then lets have more global warming.

Of course it is, the 'tree huggers' and their dodgy subsidy grabbing mates will soon be announcing that this indeed is the mildest ever March 10th 2014 since records began and proof if it were needed of man made climate change and how it is causing these prolonged periods of drought....

When i walked along the beach last night there was quite a lot of rubbish left behind. I wondered whether all the plastic storm debris on the shoreline makes people feel a bit less bothered about clearing up their own stuff.

Good grief - is this 'news'? Is this the best headline they can come up with? It's Spring, it's going to be ... er... sunny! The standard of this rag is declining day on day. Can they not employ proper journalists to do investigative journalism and come up with some more interesting content? The Daily Mail, Independent and even the Mirror manages it why can't the Bournemouth Echo.

Where was that picture taken as it is sure not Bournemouth? slight darker sand, unusual stones on the beach, rugged coastline, could be Devon or Cornwall?

What an absolutely glorious day it was today down by the seafront. Perfect weather, sunny and warm, not too hot, clean fresh air. Lovely!

It really needs one of those 'live update' type stories, where we get up to the minute updates on this extreme (ly nice) weather, snippits from people's tweets about it etc.

Yes, proper journalism, like an update on the Kinson hit and run last Wednesday. Got as far as 'car traced and seized' and 'woman helping police inquiries' headlines on Thursday, but not a word since. The paper and it's reporters are a joke.

Agreed!! Everyone is complaining that good weather isn't 'news'. But the way I see it is the bad weather made the news repeatedly...why shouldn't good weather? I'd rather see news about the weather being nice than yet another murder or crime.

I've been thinking about those sorts of comments recently, and frankly, I'd rather have stories that people claim doesn't count as 'real' news, than have lots of terrible things going on that they do count as 'real' news. Surely the old addage 'no news is good news' could apply here?!
