“I feel like my heart has been pulled out” – mum of Aaron Fiveash speaks of anguish over missing son
THE mother of a missing man who jumped naked out of his bedroom window has said she feels as though her “heart has been pulled” from her chest.
Aaron Fiveash will have been missing for a month on Sunday but there have been no confirmed sightings or leads as to his whereabouts.
Concerns are growing for his welfare, as he was last seen in a “distressed state” at his parents’ home in Sunnylands Avenue, Southbourne, on Sunday, January 5.
His distraught mother Maureen told the Daily Echo yesterday: “Every day after work I close the door and cry my eyes out.
“I feel like my heart has been pulled out of my chest, but I’ve got to carry on.
“Our only hope is that we haven’t been told he is dead. All I want is for him to return safe and well, but it seems as though he has chosen to be the invisible man.”
The disappearance of the 36-year-old has been described as “completely out of character” but his mother told the Echo he was suffering panic attacks on the weekend he ran away.
She said: “I just don’t know how he’s looking after himself, especially in this weather. We think he must still be in the country as his passport was left in his flat.
“The police have been superb and I have been really grateful for the help. We get bulletins three times a day to keep us informed.”
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “He is still missing, so the investigation is continuing.”
Aaron’s sister Sophie, 24, helped the search by printing and distributing missing posters in businesses and streets around Southbourne in an attempt to trace him.
He is described as white, 5ft 11in tall, of medium build and with short dark hair.
Anyone with any information should call Dorset Police on 101, quoting incident number 6:61.
