STAFF at the Party Shop in Abbotsbury Road wouldn’t miss Weymouth Carnival for the world.
Owner Jan O’Brien is carnival crazy and says it’s the best day of the year.
She will be entering a float once again, the theme of which she is keeping a secret, and hopes to build on last year’s success when the shop won the Best Entry award for its Bugsy Malone float.
“We’ve got our eye on the silverware again this year – or maybe we should be going for gold as we’ve just had the Olympics ,” Jan said.
She added: “After the success of hosting the Olympics, the carnival will be the icing on the cake for Weymouth.
“I hope people who were here for the Games will hang around because it’s such a great day.”
