DAVID GUETTA – LISTEN
IT’S easy to listen to French DJ and producer David Guetta’s sixth studio album due to the many songs that have been dotted through the charts in 2014.
The album Listen soared to number one in the UK dance charts when it was released, and there is little doubt that the long list of collaborations, which include the likes of Emeli Sandé, The Script, John Legend and Nicky Minaj, had a big part to play in that.
David Guetta fans will be thrilled with the album, which has a total of five songs which have already been in the Top 40, including the number one Lovers on the Sun featuring Sam Martin.
I was personally delighted to find Australian singer Sia featured on two of the tracks and like Titanium and She Wolf, two of my favourite David Guetta songs, her impressive vocals deliver two brilliant songs in Bang My Head and The Whisperer.
The album comes with two discs, the first comprising of 14 tracks of quite eclectic styles.
The second disc only has four tracks on it, but may be more of a hit with dance fans, as all of the songs are more fast-paced than those on the first CD.
Although, on the whole, the album is enjoyable to listen to, I found a few tracks, like S.T.O.P featuring Ryan Tedder, really quite boring and I found myself fighting the urge to skip them.
