Noting once again that Chippenham Folk Festival is struggling for funds (Gazette & Herald, May 29). What is the matter with the shop-keepers or publicans who profit from the influx of trade?
Can I suggest that someone co-ordinates a system of collecting a weekly payment of, say, 50p/£1 from people who live in the town? I am quite willing to donate £2 per week towards this worthwhile cause and I am 79.
I would hate to see the folk festival leave Chippenham – they have brought so much joy.
So wake up Chippenham, don’t waste your money on Doorway or the skateboard park.
