WERE you dressed in a costume when you were a child, singing around the thorn 40 years ago at the first Bawming the Thorn festival?
Festival organisers are looking for children who took part in the 1973 ceremony to celebrate the event’s 40th anniversary.
Mark Seale, Bawming the Thorn committee chairman, said: “We are trying to contact anyone who was one of these original ‘bawmers’, so we can have them as our VIP guests and judges at this year’s event.”
To celebrate the landmark year there will be a Spitfire fly-past and a revival style fancy dress parade which has the theme of flight on the day which takes place on Saturday, June 15.
Former ‘bawmers’ should call Lisa Baker on 07870 695177 or e-mail lisa_baker@mac.com.
