UP TO 600 East Dorset residents are expected to march to the district council offices in Furzehill this evening to protest against the core strategy.

Residents from West Parley, Verwood, Colehill, Corfe Mullen, Wimborne and Ferndown will meet at The Stocks Inn in Furzehill at 5.30pm.

The protestors, who will be carrying a Grim Reaper and a giant glowing coffin, will then follow a real funeral director to the offices.

A spokesperson from the West Parley Residents Association said: "The protestors will hear the district councillors put the final 'nail in the coffin' as residents witness the death of democracy in East Dorset."

The district council will meet at 6.30pm with the aim of sending the core strategy to the Secretary of State.
