Burton had led through Oliver Sarkic’s 14th-minute goal at the time of the stoppages.
Burton Albion's official Twitter account had posted the game had been abandoned after the referee was heard to blow the final whistle.
But the contest in Staffordshire has now resumed with 28 minutes added on.
