CHERRIES defender Marcos Senesi has been replaced in Argentina’s squad for upcoming international friendlies following his injury against Burnley.
12 minutes into Cherries’ 2-0 win at Turf Moor, Senesi gestured to the bench that he could not continue, clutching his hamstring.
Head coach Andoni Iraola told the Daily Echo that it was a hamstring strain, with no timeframe given.
He has been replaced by Boca Juniors defender Nicolás Valentini.
Argentina face El Salvador and Costa Rica in friendlies staged in the United States during the international break.
La Albiceleste face El Salvador on Saturday, March 23, before facing Costa Rica on Tuesday, March 26.
Senesi’s last and only cap for Argentina came in the summer of 2022, shortly before his move to Cherries, helping Argentina to defeat Italy in the Finalissima.
