KIAN Tydeman came off the bench to score twice as Cherries eased into the quarter-finals of the Hampshire Senior Cup with a 4-1 win at Havant & Waterlooville.

The Hawks largely used the same team which lined up for their National League South contest against Torquay United at the weekend.

But the sixth-tier strugglers were no match for Alan Connell’s in-form side, with Daniel Adu-Adjei and Dominic Sadi again on the scoresheet as they extended their unbeaten streak to 10 matches.

Connell made two changes from the side which won at Norwich City in the Premier League Cup on Friday. Archie Harris and Balraj Landa started, with Noa Boutin dropping to the bench and Nathan Moriah-Welsh away on international duty with Guyana.

Landa, Adu-Adjei and Michael Dacosta Gonzalez all fired wide, before the hosts saw opportunities for Roarie Deacon and Kieran Phillips go to waste at Westleigh Park.

Goalkeeper Ross Worner brilliantly denied Sadi the opener just past the half-hour mark, before the deadlock was finally broken.

Sadi sent Adu-Adjei away, the teenager firing in hard and low.

But Havant equalised on the stroke of half-time, former Oxford United striker James Roberts smashing past Cameron Plain.

Dacosta Gonzalez and Adu-Adjei came close to restoring the lead, before Sadi did exactly that. A well-worked set-piece routine saw Ben Greenwood pick out Adu-Adjei, who teed up Sadi to curl in.

Worner beat away a Jack Wadham long-ranger, before Connell turned to his bench and made a triple substitution, including the introduction of Tydeman.

He scored four minutes after coming on, again Adu-Adjei with the assist.

And Tydeman soon had his second, latching onto a loose ball after a Sadi shot had been blocked.

The quarter-finals are due to be played in the week commencing January 15, with the likes of Southampton and AFC Totton still in the competition.
