ANDREI Radu says he will speak to fellow Romanian Alex Dobre for some insight, after completing his move to Cherries.

Goalkeeper Radu has joined Cherries on a season-long loan deal from Inter Milan.

Dobre spent four years at Cherries, a stint which included four separate loan spells away from the club. He made one senior first-team appearance, in a 4-0 FA Cup win over Luton Town in January 2020.

Radu and Dobre played alongside each other for the Romania national team earlier this year.

Asked if he has spoken to the former Cherries winger about the club, Radu told afcbTV: “I didn’t have the time to speak with him, but I will call him to ask every detail.

“I didn’t talk to him yet, but he called my parents and after I will call him.”

Discussing his switch to Cherries, Radu said: “The move came about one week ago, when my manager called me and told me there was interest from Bournemouth.

“I was really excited, because a club from the Premier League having interest in you is a very important thing. It was very exciting, so after I told him to go on to see the situation.

“It is a dream for every boy who starts playing football, to be at the top level.

“I follow the Premier League a lot, honestly. You can see Premier League videos all around social media, so it is very difficult to stay away from the Premier League!

“The first experience in the Premier League is an amazing one because the goal for every player is to play in the Premier League.

“The goal is to work hard and to show that I am a Premier League player.”

Bournemouth Echo:

Radu is likely to start as back-up, alongside Darren Randolph, to first choice keeper and captain Neto.

But the 26-year-old insists he is ready to battle for the starting spot.

“Of course. The challenge in the life of a football player is what keeps the fire burning,” he said.

“You need the challenge, you need to get motivated every day.

“I am happy that we are a group of three good goalkeepers and we can motivate each other every day to work harder.”
