THERE were incredible scenes in the away end on Saturday as Cherries snatched a last-gasp win over Tottenham, one which Gary O’Neil described as “one for the memory banks” for supporters.

It was the first time, following five previous defeats, in the club’s history they have won an away match against their north London opponents.

Heung-min Son put Spurs ahead, but Cherries impressed and moved 2-1 in front with Matias Vina and Dominic Solanke on target.

However, Spurs looked to have grabbed a share of the spoils when Arnaut Danjuma came back to haunt his old club, smashing home with just two minutes of regulation time to play.

Tottenham pushed for a winner, Richarlison heading a golden opportunity wide. Then, in the fifth minute of stoppage time, Solanke teed up Dango Ouattara, to calmly slot home his first goal in Cherries colours to spark wild celebrations.

Ouattara’s goal, which secured a 3-2 victory, went down as the latest goal Cherries have ever scored during their stay in the Premier League, timed at 94:11.

So, is that strike from the Burkina Faso international Cherries’ greatest ever moment?

The club have registered some big wins in their six top-flight campaigns, but for a single moment, Ouattara’s strike must be hard to top, especially given what it may mean in the battle to avoid relegation.

Bournemouth Echo:

The obvious one that springs to mind to rival it is Nathan Ake’s late winner to beat Liverpool at Vitality Stadium in December 2016.

Trailing 3-1 with 15 minutes to play, Cherries stormed back to equalise with Ryan Fraser and Steve Cook on target.

Then, in stoppage time, Ake popped up to bundle home and seal a stunning 4-3 victory.

Later that campaign, Artur Boruc produced a huge penalty save to earn 10-man Cherries a draw with Manchester United at Old Trafford, denying Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Bournemouth Echo:

In Cherries’ first Premier League campaign, there were four big moments in successive weeks as Eddie Howe’s side racked up 13 points.

First, Junior Stanislas rescued a dramatic late point in a 3-3 home draw with Everton, before Glenn Murray’s late winner against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

A week later, Stanislas struck again, directly from a corner as Cherries toppled Manchester United. Charlie Daniels then bagged a late winner against West Brom at the Hawthorns.

Bournemouth Echo:

One of Cherries’ other memorable stoppage-time winners came in November 2017, Steve Cook striking late to send the travelling fans back for their long journey home from Newcastle happy.

Ake was at it again in May 2019 in Cherries’ first Premier League win over Spurs, heading home in stoppage time to earn a 1-0 victory at Vitality Stadium.

The following campaign was tough, ending in relegation, but Dan Gosling’s goal, awarded after a lengthy VAR delay, at Stamford Bridge was certainly one to remember.
