DANGO Ouattara came off the bench to strike an incredible last-gasp winner for Cherries, as they recorded an historic win over Tottenham Hotspur.

Spurs led the topsy-turvy contest early on through Son Heung-min, before brilliant goals from Matias Vina and Dominic Solanke turned the game on its head.

Cherries looked to have been denied when their former star Arnaut Danjuma smashed home in the 88th minute, only for Ouattara to pop up and score deep, deep into stoppage time to seal a 3-2 win.

It marked an incredible turnaround for the Burkina Faso international, who was hauled off during the first half at Leicester City, only to pop up with his first goal for the club a week later.

The win sees Gary O’Neil’s men move up to 14th in the Premier League table, six points clear of the relegation zone.

Cherries’ afternoon had got off to a nightmare start. Stuck in traffic on their way across London from the hotel to the stadium, they did not arrive until an hour after scheduled. As such, kick-off was delayed by 15 minutes, until 3.15pm.

O’Neil made two changes to the side which won at Leicester City the previous weekend.

January loan signing Vina came in for his first start for the club, while Marcus Tavernier was also recalled as Cherries moved to a back three. Adam Smith, one yellow card away from a two-match ban, dropped to the bench, alongside Ouattara.

The hosts took the lead on 12 minutes. Clement Lenglet’s excellent ball down the left found Perisic, who ran in behind Tavernier. The Croatian cut a low ball back for Son, who swept home, via a deflection off Jack Stephens.

Cherries looked for a quick response. Vina teed up Ryan Christie on the edge of the box, but he blazed over the crossbar.

Back came Spurs. Son danced past Mepham before his fierce shot was tipped over by Neto, before Harry Kane’s snapshot was also stopped by the Brazilian.

The visitors began to work their way back into the contest, Hugo Lloris called into a fine save to tip over after Tavernier had cut onto his favoured left foot.

And the scores were levelled shortly before half-time. Vina won the ball back high, before bursting forwards. Solanke slipped a pass through to the Uruguay international, who expertly dinked a left-footed effort across Lloris and into the far corner, for his first competitive goal in almost two years.

But that proved to be one of his final actions of the contest, withdrawn minutes into the second half due to injury, as Smith was introduced.

And Cherries would soon complete the turnaround. Now playing down the left, Tavernier drove forwards, with substitute Davinson Sanchez’s interception only falling kindly for Solanke. The striker gobbled up the chance, clipping past Lloris from a tight angle.

Spurs turned to their bench. Centre-back Sanchez, who was only brought on during the first half to replace the injured Lenglet, was taken off and Danjuma introduced for the final half an hour.

Tottenham got back on the attack, Perisic volleying over from a good position, before Stephens slid in to block a cross, almost diverting it into his own net. Danjuma then had his first sighter, denied by Neto as the home crowd looked to rally their side.

O’Neil’s response was to replace Christie with Anthony, but Spurs stayed on the attack, both Kane and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg heading wide. Anthony then carved out a chance for himself at the other end, denied by Lloris from a narrow angle.

Both managers turned to their benches as the game moved towards the final 10 minutes. Cristian Stellini threw on an extra attacker in Richarlison, while Marcos Senesi and Ouattara came on for Cherries.

And Richarlison thought he had levelled with four minutes to play. The Brazilian turned in after a flick from Danjuma, but the latter was offside in the build-up.

However, the scores were levelled moments later. Danjuma lashed home from the edge of the box, the shot going past Kane on its way through, who was in an offside position. After a VAR check, the goal stood, much to the disbelief of O’Neil.

Richarlison then missed a golden chance to win it for Spurs, heading wide.

But there was still time for one more late twist, as the game moved towards the end of six added minutes.

Solanke picked out Ouattara in the box, who cut inside Hojbjerg and curled into the bottom corner to spark wild scenes as Cherries registered back-to-back league wins for the first time all season.
