REPORTS from Manchester suggest that Morgan Rogers is set to be recalled from his loan at Cherries.

According to the Manchester Evening News, It appears that Manchester City are unhappy with the winger’s lack of game-time whilst on the south coast, with the Premier League leaders hoping a spell with Cherries would have acted as a key step in Rogers’ development.

The reports follow Scott Parker’s admission yesterday that he was “not sure” whether the 19-year-old would remain at the Vitality Stadium until the end of the season.

This season, Rogers has only averaged 14.6 minutes a game across 15 appearances, scoring once in the recent defeat to Luton Town.

Initially the youngster signed on a season-long loan back in August but struggled to break into Parker’s side when they were flying in the league.

Even during Cherries’ current run of iffy form, the youngster has rarely seen pitch-time – playing just 38 minutes of Championship football since the start of December.

During the busy Christmas period, Rogers was omitted completely from Parker’s matchday squads, with Cherries’ boss confirming it was due to tactical reasons.

When Rogers initially joined Cherries, the Manchester Evening News reported that the loan deal had a clause stating that the Dorset club were obliged to purchase the England under-20 international if they went on to achieve promotion.

The reports were exact in their figures, with the paper stating that if Cherries were promoted, they would have to pay an initial £9m to sign the player with £3m in add-ons.

Conflicting reports suggest that the promotion clause would only become active if Rogers started a certain amount of games for Cherries.

Despite adding the clause on to the deal, City signed Rogers to a contract extension in the summer, tying the Halesowen-born winger to the club until 2024.

Manager Parker has been vocal in his desire to add more attacking players to his squad – a move that would surely bump Rogers further down the pecking order.

Whilst the Manchester Evening News have not named any clubs willing to take the youngster on loan, the Daily Mail reports that fellow Championship sides Huddersfield and Nottingham Forest are keen on a loan deal.

Forest were linked with the attacker shortly before he joined Cherries.

Cherries have been linked with Huddersfield’s Josh Koroma, with a potential transfer merry-go-round in the offing – if reports are to be believed.
