CHERRIES have completed a move for Manchester City youngster Morgan Rogers.

The 19-year-old arrives at Vitality Stadium on a season-long loan deal and becomes head coach Scott Parker’s latest signing.

Rogers started his youth career at West Bromwich Albion before joining City’s Academy in 2019 – after he had played against them in the FA Youth Cup semi-final.

The Halesowen-born star, who normally operates as a winger, has represented England from under-15 to under-18 level.

Rogers spent the second half of last season on loan at League One Lincoln City and made 28 appearances for the Imps in all competitions, scoring six times and registering four assists.

He also competed in the League One play-off final and picked up the EFL’s Young Player of the Month award for March last season.

The Daily Echo also understands Cherries have an option to make Rogers’s switch permanent with the club.

According to NottinghamshireLive, Rogers was present at the City Ground to see Cherries’ 2-1 victory over Nottingham Forest.

He had also been linked with Chris Hughton’s side, as well as Crystal Palace this summer.

Rogers was also reportedly present for Cherries' 2-2 Championship draw with Blackpool on Saturday.

Subject to FA, EFL and Premier League approval, he could feature in the Dorset club’s Carabao Cup second-round clash with Norwich tomorrow (7pm).
