Name: Nick King

Affiliation: Conservative

Occupation: Former business man, councillor for Littledown, chairman of Dorset Conservatives, member of Police Authority Board. More about Nick's CV

Priorities if elected:

Creating closer links between the Police and our community - the police should recognise that over 95% of the public are law abiding and on their side.

Supporting Safer Neighbourhood Policing - I‘ll ensure the current system of Safer Neighbourhood Teams remains in place.

Supporting Special Constables – I'd provide a council tax rebate to encourage people to become Special Constables and establish a network of Special Constables in each of our rural parishes.

Cutting red tape and bureaucracy - finding innovative ideas to bring officers out of their offices and on to the streets.

Improving the relationship between Dorset Police and Neighbourhood Watch - I‘d employ staff to liaise with watches, improve ringmaster and encourage new groups.
