International Women’s Day will be celebrated in Poole with a free family event offering a variety of inspiring and supportive attractions.

It takes place at Poole Stadium on Sunday (March 8) from 12.30pm until 4pm and is hosted by Borough of Poole and Bournemouth Borough Council.

Barbara Cox, Entrepreneur of the Year 2008 and founder of Nutrichef will be speaking, there will be workshops on self-defence, life coaching and art.

Live music, stage performances, food tasting, netball and a climbing wall are among the attractions, there will be stalls selling jewellery, Indian head massage and NHS information about smoking, breast feeding and postnatal depression.

“By providing a fun and informative day we hope many women and their families enjoy the wide range of entertainment and activities on offer as well as tackling some important issues,” said Cllr Elaine Atkinson of Borough of Poole.
