MORE than four million people attended Bournemouth’s festivities in what has been a record-breaking Christmas for the town.
Visits to the Christmas Tree Wonderland trail, Christmas Market, and SKATE Ice Rink averaged at 94,500 per day.
Christmas in Bournemouth was organised by Seventa Events, SKATE, and BCP Council, and declared a “triumph” by all.
The town centre festivities featured an array of new entertainment, including live choirs, festive character appearances, complimentary face painting, and crafts and workshops in the Alpine Lodge.
New installations were added to Christmas Tree Wonderland, including the light up tunnel, and Christmas Train, and the Nutcracker trail was a huge success, with one lucky family winning a free holiday from Shorefield Holidays.
Other highlights include a spirited penalty shootout between the AFCB Women's team and Cherry Bear, and a performance from Eurovision star Sam Ryder in the Square.
The festivities also brought a huge boost to the local economy, with 60 of the event suppliers based within the conurbation.
The Christmas Market also boasted local traders including Ducking Stool Hot Chocolate Bar, El Murrino Italian restaurant, Bournemouth Brownie company, Bobby’s Parlour coffee shop, Dorset Chili, Mighty Wieners plant based food, and South Coast Makers market.

Liz Morgan, a visitor to Christmas in Bournemouth, said: "Great stalls with lots of different gifts plus a variety of tasty food. Really enjoyed the Alpine bar and the photo frame.”
Another visitor, Danni Miller, said: "Our favourite year visiting Bournemouth so far. From the children's train in the gardens, through the wonderland, and up to the market, the town looks so festive.”
Seventa Events said plans are already underway for next year's festivities, with the company promising an even more magical experience for all.
