A EUROVISION star has rocked Bournemouth town centre with a surprise busking session.

Sam Ryder stunned shoppers with an intimate performance at the Christmas market on Wednesday evening.

Sam and his guitarist lifted spirits with covers of ‘Run Rudolph Run’ and ‘Signed, Sealed, Delivered’, and new single ‘You’re Christmas to Me’ performed under flurries of fake snow.

Fans then got a chance to meet and take photographs with the star.

Sam, who soared to fame after finishing second at the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest with his song ‘Space Man’, has been busking around the UK in a bid to reach number one with his Christmas single.

He said his performance in Bournemouth - which was announced on social media just two hours prior - was ‘the best one’ he had done.

Sam told the Daily Echo: “I love Bournemouth.

“This is the best one - 100 per cent.

“The vibe is always good here, and the energy is good. I’m stoked.”

Hopeful of beating Wham to Christmas number one, Sam added: “Let’s do it together with our big optimistic boots on.

“It’s time for a new Christmas song, while also loving and respecting the old ones that got us here.”

Simon Brooks, director of Seventa - the company behind Bournemouth Christmas Market - said: "It was absolutely fantastic to host Sam Ryder this evening at the Bournemouth Christmas Market.

"Bournemouth did him proud, it was so lovely to see so many happy faces enjoying his performance, and to hear him say it’s been the best out of his 26x sites added an layer of delight to the event."
