A BOURNEMOUTH artist has spent more than 300 hours creating a new microscopic masterpiece of a cartoon.

World famous micro artist David A Lindon has created a microscopic sculpture of the cartoon characters Snoopy and Woodstock.

Set inside the eye of a needle, the sculpture is the smallest of Snoopy ever made and is mounted inside an authentic 1980s ceramic Snoopy moneybox.

The creation commemorates 100 years since the birth of Charles M Schulz (November 26, 1922), who was an American cartoonist and the creator of the comic strip Peanuts, which features his best loved character Snoopy.
