A ROAD in Christchurch which has been closed for more than a week due to flooding is set to re-open tonight.
BCP Council said it will be re-opening Stony Lane now flood waters have receded.
The local authority advised there was some water left at the edge of the road, and asked drivers to take ‘extra care’ when passing through.
The section of carriageway running under the bridge was closed off at the beginning of last week after it became swamped with flood water.
Several drivers were forced to abandon their vehicles in the water after having their engines cut out.

The Avon Causeway was also hit by flooding, seeing residents left with only one main route out of Burton.
A statement issued by BCP Council on Tuesday afternoon said: “As flood waters have receded, Stony Lane in Christchurch will be reopened later tonight.
"Drivers should take extra care as although the road will be open, it will be restricted and narrowed due to some water remaining at the edge of the road.”
