A TOWN has already been "brought to life" by a young entrepreneur's newly launched cocktail and tapas bar.

The Outpost in New Milton launched last month and has been "absolutely heaving" every weekend since.

Establishing his own bar has long been a goal of Andrew Witt, aged 28, from New Milton.

Having worked in the hospitality industry for more than ten years, he is "thrilled" with how the debut of his new bar has gone.

The Outpost, which serves a selection of cocktails, beers, spirits, and tapas food, is already becoming a neighbourhood favourite.

Andrew said: “It's always been my dream to open a bar, and I decided to go for it.

Bournemouth Echo:

"I have put everything into this and it's great to see people are enjoying it.

"I think it’s just what was needed to put life back into New Milton, people are really glad to see a new bar in town.

"We have been absolutely heaving every weekend since we opened and so many people have left us really positive reviews which are really encouraging.

"Anyone is welcome here, you can stop by for a coffee during the day."

New Milton Town Mayor, Cllr Keith Craze, opened the bar on October 14.

Andrew, who is originally from Lymington, has been residing in New Milton since 2015.

Andrew added: "I think I found a gap in the market because there isn't much like this around here and people have been saying the bar has brought New Milton to life.

"We have obviously been impacted by rising energy prices, but right now, things are going well.

"We have been exceeding our goals each week, so we just need to keep doing that."

Once a month, the bar will be holding events such as live music and performers.

The Outpost is open between 10am and 10pm Monday to Thursday and 10am to 11pm Friday to Saturday.

You can find The Outpost at 20 Whitefield Road, New Milton BH25 6DF.
