A WOMAN in her 80s has died following a two-car crash in rural Dorset last month that left three people seriously injured.
The driver of the Ford sustained serious injuries in the collision near Winfrith Newburgh at 12.33pm on Thursday, August 18, and was airlifted to hospital.
Giving an update, police said the woman died in hospital on Sunday, September 4, and her next of kin has been informed.
Two occupants of the Vauxhall were also taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that were described as serious but not life-threatening.
Sergeant Lee Savage, of the traffic unit, said: “Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of the woman who has sadly died at what must be an extremely difficult time for them.
“We are continuing to carry out enquiries to establish the full circumstances of this collision. I would again urge any witnesses who have not already spoken to police, or anybody with relevant dashcam footage, to please come forward.”
