THE country will pause on Monday, September 19, for the Queen’s funeral.

Many services will be suspended, and attractions and businesses closed to mark the day, which will be a bank holiday.

Major stores will be closed including Sainsbury’s, Aldi, Primark and John Lewis.

The majority of local shops will be closed across Bournemouth, Christchurch, Poole and Dorset. 

Cinema chains Cineworld, Odeon and Showcase will also shut

High street baker Greggs will also close all of its stores

Attractions

Brownsea Island

Holiday cottages and the campsite will remain open for pre-booked visitors only that have booked to stay during this time.

Posting on social media, Brownsea Island said: “For day visitors that have pre-booked a visit for this date, the bookings team will issue you with a refund and we look forward to welcoming you another day.”

The Regent

The Regent will be closed on Monday, September 19, including the café, box office and phone lines.
