Plans to open a high-end restaurant in Bournemouth's former New Look store have been approved.
The proposal for The Ivy to open in the large vacant space left by the clothing retailer in Bournemouth Square has now been officially given the go-ahead by BCP Council.
News, the famous brand wanted to move into the store left empty by New Look, was broken by the Daily Echo in March.

In the past few weeks, hoardings have gone up around the store, while work gets underway.
In granting the application, the planning officer said in their decision statement the area was of "key importance" to the town centre vitality.
There will be space for 28 diners in an outside eating area, the application says.
The external tables will be screened partially from public view with planters and real plants.
"The new use of ‘The Ivy’ would be a positive addition to Bournemouth town centre and would offer an active frontage to The Square during the day and night time, further benefiting the vitality and viability of the area", the statement adds.
"This restaurant will provide a commercial use that would benefit the wider town."
There were four comments in support of the application.

One said: "I fully support this proposal.
"The creation of a new good quality brasserie-style restaurant in Bournemouth town centre is much needed.
"It will without doubt have a very positive impact on the area and is likley to attract other similar quality providers to a part of the town centre which is in desperate need of investment.
"The opening of an Ivy cafe on Bourne Avenue will be a catalyst for further positive developments.”
Previously, deputy leader of BCP Council, Cllr Phil Broadhead said: "This is exactly the injection of positivity that our high streets need.
"Our main town centres are evolving from somewhere that you did your weekly shopping to destinations to spend time with friends and family.
"Department stores are transforming into art galleries and flexible spaces, and chain shops are becoming high end, world class restaurants.
“It is particularly exciting to see this offer come to the Square, which will really help to drive the type of quality environment we’re creating.”
