A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a stabbing in Bournemouth town centre this week.

Detectives investigating the incident on Wednesday night have arrested another two men following the incident in St Peter's Road.

Dorset Police received a report at 10.26pm that a man had sustained a stab wound following an altercation in St Peter’s Road.

Officers attended the scene and the injured man was taken to hospital by air ambulance. His injuries are believed to be serious but not life-threatening.

A 21-year-old man from London was arrested on suspicion of affray. He has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

Following further enquiries, at around 2pm on Friday June 24 in Wimborne Road, a 25-year-old man from Bournemouth was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder and a 19-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. They both remain in police custody.

Detective Inspector Katie Starkie, of Bournemouth CID, said: “A full investigation is underway into this incident and I am appealing to anyone who was in the area and witnessed what happened to please come forward.

“There will continue to be an increased police presence in the area as the investigation continues and local officers can be approached by members of the public with any information or concerns.”
