A MAN arrested following a stabbing in Bournemouth town centre has been released under investigation.

As previously reported, a man was airlifted to hospital after being stabbed during a fight in St Peter’s Road at around 10.26pm on Wednesday, June 22.

The man, aged in his 20s, sustained a stab wound described as serious but not life-threatening and was taken to Southampton General Hospital by air ambulance.

A 21-year-old man from the London area was arrested on suspicion of affray.

Giving an update, Dorset Police said: “The man who was arrested on suspicion of affray has been released under investigation.

“There have been no further arrests at this time and our enquiries remain ongoing.

“There is no significant condition update at this time.”

Following the incident, Dorset Police said there would be an increased police in the area and officers could be approached by members of the public with any information or concerns.
