HOT weather is on the way over the next few days with temperatures to reach the low 30s.

So what better way to cool down than with an ice cream?

Dorset and the New Forest has a number of parlours to pick from.

Whether you want a 99, gelato or sundae, here’s our round-up of just a few of the places to try if you’re in need of a sweet treat.

Burley Ice Creams

Described as the “best in the Forest” and serving “speciality soft ice cream with a tantalising assortment”, Burley Ice Creams offers no end of choice.

Situated in Ringwood Road, Burley, the popular kiosk serves a variety of cones, ice creams and toppings.

Delights include lemon sherbet salted caramel ice cream and the traditional soft serve.

Then there’s the toppings with flakes, sugar curls, marshmallows and fudge pieces available. Sauces include lime, raspberry and of course, chocolate.

Karsberg Fish & Chips

Yes, we know it's a fish and chip shop but Karsberg in Turbary Road, Ferndown, has now has a gelato parlour on its premises.

Customers can take their ice creams home in a tub or enjoy straight away in a crispy waffle cone. 

Flavours include Bueno, Biscoff, Milkybar and mint choc chip with a number of sundaes also on offer. 

Creams

The dessert parlour has a number of branches across the UK including Charminster Road and Albert Road in Bournemouth

The menu features everything from sundaes, scoop shakes, cookies, gelato and sorbet. 

Sundades include knickerbocker glory, hot n cold volcano cake and berry slice. 

The Albert Road branch is open between 11am and 11pm Monday to Thursday and 11am to 12am Friday to Sunday.

Meanwhile, Charminster Road is open 10am to 11pm daily.

Both venues offer Deliveroo and Just Eat and Uber Eats. 

Cremma

Ever eaten ice cream with a knife and fork? Cremma in Bournemouth's Old Christchurch Road pledges to give a customers a "unique experience".

The ice cream is made using goat's milk which apparently means it melts more slowly. 

On its website, Cremma says: "Part of what makes our ice cream so alluring is the fact that it is stretchy ice cream! This totally unique type of ice cream can be eaten with a knife and fork, which is sure to be an exciting new experience for all customers."

Cremma is open from 8am until 10pm daily. 

Giggi Gelateria

Giggi Gelateria has been a hit with ice cream fans in Dorset for years. 

It previously had a branch in Bournemouth town centre, but now operates in Swanage with a kiosk in Shore Road/Victoria Avenue. 

It prides itself on serving some of the "finest homemade Italian ice cream in the UK" with a range of flavours including coffee, chocolate, pistachio, banoffee pie and even Christmas pudding.

There are also a variety of sorbets to choose from including apple, pineapple and mango.
