Staff at a Bournemouth library have experienced 'alarm and distress' following antisocial behaviour.

A spokesperson for Bournemouth Police said: "There have been some more incidents of antisocial behaviour in the West Howe Library.

"Staff and visitors are experiencing harassment, alarm and distress by a small number of youths.

"We are working with our partnership agencies to bring this incidents to an end.

"Please call Dorset Police if you witness any incidents or have any information to pass to us."

It comes as police in Poole were called to deal with youths at Tower Park over the weekend.

A spokesperson for Poole Police said: “Poole neighbourhood policing team are working with retailers, businesses on the complex and our partner agencies to identify the youths involved so that appropriate action can be taken.” 

In another incident, youths were refused entry to the youth centre in Broadstone.  

A spokesperson for Poole Police said: “Staff have a responsibility to ensure that those who attend the youth centre are safe and able to enjoy their evenings at this establishment.
