A BMW was driven 'dangerously' on the wrong side of the road after failing to stop for police in Bournemouth.

Officers attempted to stop the black BMW coupe in Braidley Road just after 9pm on Sunday, May 29.

The vehicle reportedly failed to stop and made off at excessive speed in the direction of Wimborne Road.

Officers then witnessed the vehicle being driven in a dangerous manner on the wrong side of the carriageway before losing sight of it.

It was subsequently found abandoned in Dean Park Road.

Dorset Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

Police Constable Chris Brolan, of the traffic unit, said: “We are continuing to carry out enquiries into this incident and I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the manner of driving of the vehicle involved to please contact us.

“I would also like to hear from any motorists who were in the area and may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage.”
