IT IS difficult to comprehend the challenges members of the ambulance service face on a daily basis.
Dorset-based senior paramedic George Bell-Starr said the support of family and colleagues is vital to do the job.
He now takes on an emerging role as a paramedic working in primary care alongside GP practices.
George recently sat down with the Daily Echo for the latest episode of The Echo Dispatch podcast series to discuss what life is like in the ambulance service,
In conversation with chief reporter Jason Lewis, George discussed his route into his chosen career and the demands of being on the frontline of the NHS.
He also talked about the role of medical staff at both high-profile and local events and his advice for people wanting to become a paramedic.
