A MAN was threatened with a crowbar and had £100 cash stolen from his home in an aggravated burglary.

Detectives investigating the incident in Bournemouth are appealing for anyone with information to come forward – with two people arrested.

Police said the incident happened at around 12.15am on Tuesday, November 30, 2021.

Two men gained entry to a property in Seafield Road and threatened the occupant, a man in his 70s, with a crowbar before stealing around £100 in cash.

An investigation was launched into the incident by detectives from Bournemouth CID and following enquiries two local men were arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary.

The men, aged 18 and 19, have been released on police bail as detectives continue their investigation.

Detective Inspector Darren Moores, of Bournemouth CID, said: “Officers have responded swiftly to this report and, following extensive enquiries, two arrests have been made.

“Our investigation is ongoing and I would urge anyone with information that might assist us to please come forward. I am particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area on the night of the incident, or who may have captured anything of relevance on either dashcam or home CCTV footage.

“There has been an increased police presence in the vicinity as officers carry out enquiries and local officers can be approached by members of the community with any information or concerns.”
