A MAN in his 20s has sustained a fractured eye socket after being punched in the face during an unprovoked attack in Bournemouth.

The incident occurred at around 3.15am on Sunday November 7 in Old Christchurch Road, near to the TSB bank.

The victim was walking along the road with friends when they were approached by another group of men.

Whilst the two groups were talking, a man punched the victim to the face without provocation.

Officers have issued CCTV images of a man they are looking to identify following the assault in Bournemouth.

Police Constable Simon Anderson, of Dorset Police, said: “This was an unprovoked assault that left the victim with a nasty injury and we have been carrying out a number of enquiries to try and identify the man responsible.

“We have obtained CCTV images of the suspect, but we have so far been unable to identify him.

“I am now issuing the images to the public in the hope that someone might recognise him. I would urge anyone with information as to his identify to please come forward.”
