THE popular Sunday market in Bournemouth will be temporarily moving location from outside of Beales to further up Old Christchurch Road this festive season.

It was temporarily paused last weekend due to Remembrance Day but from Sunday, November 21, the successful market will resume in the town.

A BCP Council spokesperson said: “With Remembrance Day and the upcoming Christmas Tree Wonderland launch, the Sunday market was paused last weekend.

“From next Sunday, November 21, it shall resume, temporarily moving further up Old Christchurch Road due to the Christmas seasonal market taking place.

"The market has been a notable success for an area of the town centre that typically would see lower retail traffic on a Sunday.

“The addition of the market has increased footfall in this area, and we are now seeing retailers opening that hadn't been able to do so previously."

The market which started in June has been a boost for the local economy and is host to an array of street food stalls and vendors from across the south coast.

Paul Kinvig, town centre BID said; "I am delighted by the success of the Bournemouth Sunday Market.

“Traders in this area of the town have been very positive about this new scheme. It has added a vibrancy to the town that will make a positive difference to our local community moving forward."
