THE Regent Centre in Christchurch has revealed its bumper line-up of films, live shows and broadcasts this Christmas.

‘The King of Waltz’ returns to the big screen with Christmas with André on Sunday December 5 and Monday December 6 with a brand-new recorded concert packed with all the festive favourites including ‘Hallelujah’, ‘Jingle Bells’, ‘White Christmas’ and many more performed by André and his famous Johann Strauss Orchestra [Tickets £20, Concessions £18].

Starting off the season in style on Thursday December 9 at 7.15pm, is Tchaikovsky’s much-loved classic ballet The Nutcracker, broadcast live onto the Regent’s big screen direct from the Royal Opera House in London’s Covent Garden [Tickets £18.50, Concessions £16.50, Child Under 16: £10].

Returning for its tenth year of festive fun is the Glad Rag Production Company’s Christmas Spectacular with 11 performances from between Saturday December 18 and Friday December 24.

Attendees can enjoy an evening of music and carols from the St Walburga’s choir and timbrels which is guaranteed to take you right to the heart of the true meaning of Christmas [Tickets £7, Child U16: £5].

The Regent Centre itself will be celebrating its milestone 90th birthday on December 26 (Boxing Day) at 2pm, with a free screening of their original opening film The Taming of the Shrew starring Mary Pickford and Douglas Fairbanks. Pre-booking for this event is advised [Tickets are free].

On Friday December 31 at 9.15pm, it’s time to dust off those dancing shoes and get your glad rags on for the Regent’s New Year’s Eve screening of Kinky Boots the Musical, recorded live at the Adelphi Theatre in London [Tickets £20].
