FOLLOWING a long and arduous recruitment process, Bournemouth & Poole College is pleased to announce the appointment of Woody as the college’s first 'comforting canine'.
Woody, aged almost three, has been put through rigorous training ready to start his new job at the local college.
It's role will be based across both the Lansdowne and North Road sites, where it will spend his working days walking around, meeting students and staff while providing care to those who need support throughout their time at college.

Described as “well trained, very friendly and a bit daft”, Woody’s role will also involve being accessible to distressed students for strokes, cuddles and moments of calm.
When asked how excited it was to start its new career, the black lab barked and ran to its bed.
Woody will start in September.
