SEVERAL fire service appliances have been called to Wimborne after a fire broke out at Ferndown Forest.
Eight pumps and four specials, including a water carrier from Ringwood, were mobilised at 5.16pm on Monday April 5.
The blaze is occupying an area measuring 200 metres by 200 metres, and fire crews are working hard to prevent the fire from spreading.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.

A spokesman from fire control said: “Eight pumps and four specials, one of those being a water carrier from Ringwood, are currently attending a fire at White Sheet Plantation near Holt Heath Nature Reserve.
“We had an informant saying that the fire is approximately 200 metres by 200 metres ands it is being extinguished by four main lines and eight hose reel jets.
“Two land rovers are also on site to prevent escalation.”
