The latest research by MyVitamins looked at the total number of Google searches made for 38 different sleep-related terms, split across 20 of the UK’s biggest towns and cities.

As well as questions and terms related to sleep issues, like insomnia, night sweats and restless leg syndrome, they also looked at people searching for solutions, like sleep music, weighted blankets and meditation.

Finally, they compared the total searches to the population of each place in the study, to give a “searches per one million people” figure.

Bournemouth ranked among the top 10 most sleep deprived places with more than 93,000 searches per million people.

Topping the list was Liverpool and Leicester who saw more than 150,000 sleep related searches per million.

Surprisingly London came eighth despite being the capital city and one of the most densely populated places.
