MORE than 150 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in the last 24 hours, latest figures show.

Data released by the government shows 156 people tested positive in Dorset in the 24 hours leading up to 4pm on November 2.

98 of these cases came in the BCP Council area, meaning 4,089 people have now tested positive in BCP since the start of the pandemic.

In the seven days leading up to October 28, 822 people tested positive for the virus, giving a rolling infection rate of 207.9 per 100,000 people.

In the Dorset Council area, 58 people tested positive in the last 24 hours, taking the total since the start of the pandemic to 2,125.

In the seven days leading up to October 28, 411 people tested positive, exactly half of that in the BCP Council area.

The rolling infection rate in the Dorset Council area stood at 108.6 per 100,000 people.

Elsewhere, 23 people tested positive in the New Forest, meaning 1,205 people have tested positive since the start of the pandemic.

172 people tested positive in the New Forest in the seven days leading up to October 28, a rolling rate of 95.5 per 100,000.
