STAFF at Christchurch Medical Practice are self-isolating after a member of their team tested positive for coronavirus.

The practice has warned patients there could be possible delays and that they may be "unable to deal with you as quickly as we would like."

The group operates four different surgeries but has not revealed which are affected.

It runs The Barn Surgery and The Orchard Surgery at Purewell as well as those in Salisbury Road, Burton and Ringwood Road, Bransgore.

More pupils self-isolating after positive test at primary school

In a statement on Facebook, the practice said: "We are sorry to have to inform you that one of our team members at Christchurch Medical Practice has tested positive for CV19.

"They are not in a patient-facing role and are therefore no additional risk to you, our patients.

"Unfortunately though this means a number of our staff have also had to self-isolate for 14 days. We are asking for your understanding if we are unable to deal with you as quickly as we would like."

Patients have been urged to contact pharmacies for prescriptions and to use the e-consult service online.
