BOURNEMOUTH said goodbye to one long-standing fashion store this week and is preparing to lose another.

The Oasis store in Old Christchurch Road shut its doors over the weekend after admitting last month it was part of a closure programme. It's now been stripped of its fittings and is available for rent, with customers instructed to visit its outlet in Ringwood's The Furlong Centre.

Meanwhile, in the nearby Arcade, the Karen Millen store has started slashing prices before its planned closure later this autumn.

The store and its sister brand, Coast, were put into administration last month before being immediately sold to online retailer Boohoo.

Administrators at Deloitte said the stores would continue to trade for a short time while they realise the company’s assets.

Boohoo said adding the brands to its roster, which includes PrettyLittleThing, Nasty Gal and MissPap, would help win customers in the crowded online fashion market.
