POLICE in east Dorset have warned residents in rural areas to be on their guard after a spate of crimes in recent days.
Between June 20 and June 28 offences have included criminal damage, theft, assault, burglary and threats.
Burglaries were reported in Gussage All Saints and Holt and there was an assault in Holt. Criminal damage was committed in Woodcutts, threats were made in Hinton Martell and thefts were carried out in Sturminster Marshall and Cranborne.
Items were also stolen from unattended vehicles in Cowgrove, Knowlton, Pamphill and Shapwick.
