1 HELP rid Dorset's beaches of litter this weekend. The Great Dorset Beach Clean will see events take place in Bournemouth between 10am and 2pm on Saturday, Poole between 10am and 3pm on Sunday and in Swanage between 10am and 12pm on both days. Meet at Pier Approach in Bournemouth, Sandbanks beach office in Poole and outside the Bull and Boat in Swanage. 2 BOURNEMOUTH Male Voice Choir hosts Poole's first international male voice choir competition at the Lighthouse on Saturday afternoon. The Concert of 400 Voices will see 10 men's choirs from all over the UK compete for a first prize of £1,000. It will culminate with a special evening concert with the top three choirs performing solo sets and Bournemouth Male Voice Choir also singing. Organisers hope the event will raise £10,000 for the Bournemouth Hospital Charity.

3 JOIN Hattie Miles for a Southbourne Secrets guided walk on Sunday morning (April 28). People will find out about the area’s development, famous residents and hidden secrets. Meet outside Costa Coffee at 11am. Costs £6 or £5 for over 60s and students. There’s no need to book, just turn up.

4 LOOK and listen for natterjack toads at Hengistbury Head on Saturday evening. The walk takes place between 7.45pm and 9.45pm and costs £5 for adults and £2 for under 16s. Booking is essential.

5 A STARGAZING event is being held at Durlston Country Park on Saturday night. Visitors will have their eyes to the skies for star clusters, galaxies and spring constellations. The event is weather dependent so call on the day to confirm. The event costs £3 per person and takes place between 9pm and 10.30pm.

7 BOURNEMOUTH Folk club presents Urban Folk Quartet at Boscombe's Shelley Theatre on Saturday night. The four-piece recently appeared on The Folk Show with Mark Radcliffe on Radio 2.
