THE reorganisation of local government is a hugely important and serious matter for the residents of the Bournemouth Christchurch and Poole (BCP) conurbation.
Yet, with only five weeks remaining before the new BCP Council is formed, at a critical meeting of the BCP Shadow Authority on Wednesday evening, where important matters such as council tax harmonisation and the new BCP constitution were being considered, some members chose to turn the debate into an undignified and disrespectful political slanging match. If ever there was an example of why there is no room in local government for political parties, this was it!
