I TOTALLY agree with Robert Readman (Letters March 6).
The current congestion of buses in the town near the Lower Gardens is appalling.
He is quite right. This is an accident waiting to happen.
Why spoil a pleasant pedestrian area of the town with a bus lane.
There is a bus and coach station at the train station in Bournemouth. Could Park and Ride be implemented there? Older towns than Bournemouth have had to solve this problem.
In their cases the streets with old houses in them are just not viable for large passenger busses and coaches.
Step up, Bournemouth council, and consider your less well-off visitors.
The new Hilton Hotel is fine and so is the new cinema, but if you cannot get people into Bournemouth all this will be dead in the water.
